Qigong and Mixed Mindful Movement + Meditation
Meeting What's Here (Freeze Response) - 55 mins
This was our first live class after the US elections. Checking in with the students who were attending live, the consensus was a feeling of low energy, stuckness, exhaustion, shock, and numbness. So, rather than practicing a traditional heart meditation, the class theme shifted to “meeting what is here,” and we practiced gentle movements to help shift out of a nervous system Freeze response.
Self-Compassion: Mindful Movement + Meditation - 31 mins
This class is 50/50 mindful movement and guided meditation, on the theme of self-compassion. Try this when you’re feeling tense, stressed out, anxious, or low energy.
Clearing Energy for Presence: Mindful Movement - 46 mins
Calm your busy mind with these Qigong and Yoga movements, so you can feel more present. Once your nervous system is prepared to relax, we’ll do a guided meditation either seated or lying down. You might be surprised to find that you actually can meditate!
Active, Energizing, and Strengthening
Quick Shoulder Refresher - 27 mins
This shorter practice will help you release nagging upper body tension and bring more awareness to your postural habits. You’ll move and stretch the shoulders from all different angles, giving them a well-rounded “refresher.”
Mindful Movement with Resistance Bands, Class 1 - 54 mins
Let’s explore what resistance bands have to offer in terms of strength, support, creativity, and enhanced proprioceptive awareness through the sense of touch, bringing new insights to familiar shapes!
Dynamic Steadiness, Class 1: Foundations of Balance - 56 mins
This is the first class in a series focused on balance. This session starts with the foundations of the feet, and incorporates Mindfulness, Yoga postures, and exercises from a research-backed Tai Chi balance program.
Yin & Restorative Yoga
Yin Yoga for the Lower Body - 56 mins
If your hips and hamstrings have been feeling tired, tight, or stagnant, this is the practice for you. We’ll start with a little bit of gentle movement to loosen up, then deepen into a few long Yin stretches to address all of those spots around the hips and legs.
Yin Yoga with Mindful Breathing - 56 mins
In the poses, you’ll be guided through an exploration of two “modes” of breathing – deliberate breath enhancement and observation of the natural breath. You will enjoy the positive effects of meditation while benefiting the body at the same time!
Yin Yoga with Just A Mat - 55 mins
Normally, I am a big fan of using yoga props to support our Yin poses, but what if you don’t have all of the equipment at home? This class is a practical solution – we are going to get creative with a rolled up yoga mat to receive all the same benefits of a supported Yin class.
Gentle and Therapeutic
Somatic Neck Relief - 36 mins
This is a relaxing, Somatic-style movement class designed to release tension in the neck and shoulders. Try this class if you feel tightness, aches, or pains in your neck, or if you simply want to deepen your mindfulness of the body.
Going in Circles to Move All Your Joints - 26 mins
Get yourself moving with some fun circles for all of your joints! In just 25 minutes, we’ll work our way through the entire body, helping to soothe the joints, increase circulation, and get your breath flowing.
Bedtime Yoga for Restful Sleep - 39 mins
This class consists of simple yoga poses to release tension, along with breathing practices that promote restfulness within. You can even do this class in your bed, if you want! We will use two bed pillows as yoga props to create soft support in the poses.
