The Brain-Body Resilience Podcast with Jessica Patching-Bunch

Episode 151: Busting Myths of Mindfulness and Meditation: A Talk with Addie deHilster

This was a great conversation with BBR host Jessica Patching-Bunch (JPB) about what mindfulness is (and isn’t). We covered a lot of ground, including the question of how “being in the present moment” is actually relevant in our day-to-day lives. And, we also talked about the ways that mindfulness can improve our relationship with the body.

Self-Kind: The Podcast, with Erica Webb

Episode 137: Moved To Meditate with Addie deHilster

I had the pleasure of speaking with host Erica Webb about how my movement and meditation practices were borne from the need to cope with change and stress. We talked about the role of silence (and silent retreats) in my practice, and we also discussed what Metta Meditation is and why it can be so hard to offer ourselves loving kindness.

A Yin Yoga Podcast, with Nyk Danu

Mindfulness and Yin Yoga with Addie deHilster

I was a guest on Nyk Danu’s show, A Yin Yoga Podcast, where we discussed the connection between Mindfulness Meditation and Yin Yoga. We talked about defining Mindfulness, especially given the popularity of the the term (and the common misunderstandings of what it means). Nyk also asked some in-depth questions about my “yoga origin story,” so if you’re curious how I got started with my practice, this is a fun conversation!

The Yin Yoga Podcast with Mandy Ryle

Yin Yoga and Meditation with Addie deHilster

I was a guest on the Yin Yoga Podcast, speaking with host Mandy Ryle about Yin Yoga and Meditation. We talked about how movement and mindfulness practices can be de-compartmentalized, and how Yin Yoga (in many ways) is a meditation practice in and of itself. You will hear how concepts from Vipassana (Mindfuness Meditation) including compassion and non-resistance can be applied to your Yin Yoga practice, and how to apply Yin components such as body awareness and regulation to your meditation practice.
