Gentle Yoga – Legacy Health Cancer Healing Center

Hybrid In-Person/Zoom Class

This class, hosted by Legacy Hospital’s Cancer Healing Center in Salmon Creek, is open to anyone in the local area with a cancer diagnosis. Wherever you are in your cancer journey – from diagnosis to treatment and beyond – you are welcome to join us for mindful movement in a supportive environment.

Addie deHilster teaches a Gentle Yoga class at the Legacy Cancer Healing Center in Vancouver, Washington.

Yoga Therapist Addie deHilster teaches this gentle class, which encourages strength, flexibility, confidence, calm and wellbeing through a gradual exploration and expansion of movement. We combine yoga postures, somatic exercises, breath practices and mindfulness techniques to create a meaningful and well-rounded practice.

This is a “hybrid” style class, with the option to attend virtually via Zoom or in-person at the Salmon Creek Medical Center in Vancouver, WA.

I will be teaching an 8-Week Mindfulness Meditation for Stress Resilience course through Portland Community College’s Community Education program during the 2025 Winter Term. This non-credit class is open for anyone to join virtually!

In this class, we will explore scientific findings about stress resilience, as well as mindfulness principles that help ground us in the present moment. You will learn simple practices to bring yourself out of fight/flight nervous system states, along with meditations for mental and emotional steadiness.

With practice, you will become more aware of the thought patterns that contribute to distress, and develop greater well-being through noticing and appreciating the good in your life. By learning practical mindfulness meditation tools that calm thoughts and emotions, you will build resilience so you grow stronger through your challenges!
